OUR

PURPOSE

Hero Image

There are billions of tea drinkers out there. In fact, tea is the most popular non-alcoholic drink after water. And because Lipton® is the world’s leading tea brand, it means we have a big responsibility when it comes to what we put in ours.

No matter a company’s size, sustainability is a big responsibility (our parent company LIPTON Teas and Infusions is the world’s largest buyer of tea leaves).Yet we think sustainable development is a great opportunity too – because we can help create a brighter future for our planet. One cup of tea at a time.

IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS

People care about what goes into their bodies. That’s why we care about what goes into our teas. We believe in tea that is good for you and sourced responsibly, without compromising on quality and without costing the Earth.

NATURE IS OUR FACTORYHere at Lipton, nature is our factory. We harness the sun, wind and rain to ensure our every cup of tea is crafted with natural goodness to give you our signature delicious taste and aroma.2022-06-20

CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

We strongly believe in having a positive impact on the planet (while serving our customers with the tea they love).

We are backed by more than three decades of experience in tea agronomy, breeding and research. By pioneering new practices in plant nutrition and agrochemical reduction, we’re building a model for a nature-positive supply chain.

We aim to be the first big company in our industry to reach net zero emissions, with 2040 as our target year working from a 2021 baseline. Our targets are currently being validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative while work is already underway.

All growers and suppliers who want to work with us must have a plan in place for how they intend to improve standards for workers and the environment. What’s more, they will need to have a provable track record of progress.

We, as part of LIPTON Teas and Infusions, are working together with almost one million farmers in 30 countries around the world to deliver positive impact.

EDUCATION PLAYS A PART TOO

We’re also committed to farmer education, which helps suppliers understand our long-term goals for sustainable tea production and sets out strict quality standards they must meet.

All of this is part of our commitment to help not just brighten your day with the perfect cup of tea, but to help brighten the future of our planet too.

SUPPORTING CUSTOMERS, LIKE YOU

Being sustainable is about recognizing all the places we can make a difference. So our efforts are aligned with those of international authorities, including the World Health Organization. It’s just another part of our responsibility bit. But if you have any concerns, please get in touch through our contact us page – we’ll be more than happy to share more information with you. After all, we live, breathe – and drink – tea, too. Just like you. And we’re grateful for all your support.
